The Hog Wild mini rod was originally built in the late 80’s / early 90’s and stopped pulling in the mid 90’s. It sat parked in a friend’s family storage barn for over 20 years until he was able to buy it from the owner with another tractor, and that’s when it was offered to me. We spent months resurrecting the engine and carburetor, fighting many obstacles along the way. The first pull was the Houlton Fair in 2024 and let’s just say it taught me a lot about the tractor and pulling all at the same time. After making some changes we pulled at the Presque Isle Fair at the end of that same summer, and that’s when I finally had it going good. Shortly after that, the family that originally built it asked me if I would ever sell it back to them. Me being all about the originality of the machine and wanting to do right by it, we made a deal, and in the spring of 2025 it went back to its original family.
